Work Visa & Immigration
Everything you need to know about overseas work permits, immigration pathways, and manpower services.
Which countries does ManGo Travels provide work visa services for?
Work VisaManGo Travels provides work permit and immigration services for a wide range of destinations including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Denmark, Malta, Serbia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Belarus, and several Middle Eastern countries. We cover both skilled worker pathways and general employment visas depending on the destination country's requirements.
What is the difference between a work permit and a work visa?
Work VisaA work visa is an entry document that allows you to travel to and enter a country for employment purposes. A work permit (or work authorisation) is the document that legally allows you to work once you are in the country. In many countries (e.g. Germany, Finland), these are combined into a single residence permit that covers both entry and the right to work.
What documents are generally required for a work visa application?
Work VisaWhile requirements vary by country, most work visa applications require the following core documents:
- Valid passport (6+ months validity)
- Signed employment contract from the employer
- Educational certificates and diplomas (certified translations if required)
- Professional experience letters and CV
- Medical fitness certificate
- Police clearance certificate (from Bangladesh Police)
- Passport-size photographs
- Proof of financial means (in some countries)
- Health insurance (where required)
How long does a work visa take to process?
Work VisaProcessing times vary significantly by destination country:
- Canada: 8–16 weeks (SDS faster)
- Australia: 4–8 weeks (Subclass 482)
- Germany: 6–12 weeks
- Finland: 30–90 days
- Denmark: 30–60 days (Fast-Track: 2 weeks)
- Malta: 4–8 weeks
- Serbia / Moldova: 3–6 weeks
Do I need a job offer before applying for a work visa?
Work VisaIt depends on the visa category and destination:
- Employer-sponsored visas (e.g. UK Skilled Worker, Australia 482, Denmark Fast-Track): Yes, a confirmed job offer is required.
- Points-based systems (e.g. Canada Express Entry, Australia 189 Skilled Independent): No job offer needed — you apply based on your skills, education, and experience score.
- Job Seeker Visas (e.g. Germany Job Seeker Visa): You can enter the country to search for a job and convert to a work permit after securing employment.
What is the EU Blue Card and who is eligible?
Work VisaThe EU Blue Card is a premium work and residence permit for highly qualified non-EU professionals working in European Union countries. Key requirements include:
- A recognised university degree (Bachelor's or higher)
- A job offer or employment contract in the EU country
- A minimum salary threshold (varies by country — typically €45,000–€60,000/year)
- The job must be in a regulated or shortage occupation sector
Once granted, the EU Blue Card allows you to live and work in the issuing EU country and potentially transfer to other EU countries after 18 months. ManGo Travels handles EU Blue Card applications for Finland, Denmark, Malta, Serbia, and other EU countries.
Can my family join me abroad on a work visa?
Work VisaYes — most countries allow work permit holders to bring their spouse and dependent children through a Family Reunification or Dependent Visa. Requirements typically include proof of your work permit, proof of the relationship (marriage/birth certificate), sufficient income to support the family, and accommodation proof. Processing times and requirements vary by country. ManGo Travels can handle dependent visa applications alongside your main work permit application.
What is Canada Express Entry and how does it work?
Work VisaCanada Express Entry is a points-based immigration management system for skilled workers seeking Canadian Permanent Residency. The process works as follows:
- Create an Express Entry profile online with IRCC
- Receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on age, education, language, and work experience
- IRCC conducts regular draws — the highest-scoring candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR
- After receiving an ITA, submit a full PR application within 60 days
What is BMET clearance and why is it required?
Work VisaBMET (Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training) clearance is a mandatory requirement for all Bangladeshi nationals travelling abroad for employment. It registers the worker with the Bangladesh government and provides certain legal protections. The clearance is obtained from the BMET office in Bangladesh before departure. ManGo Travels handles BMET clearance as part of our manpower services — along with the employment contract verification, medical fitness certificate, and airport clearance.
How can I verify that a job offer abroad is genuine and not a scam?
Work VisaUnfortunately, overseas job scams are a serious concern. Here are key ways to verify a job offer:
- Check if the employer is a registered company in the destination country (use official business registries)
- Never pay recruitment fees to the employer directly — legitimate employers do not charge workers
- Verify the job offer letter has proper company letterhead, contact details, and is signed
- Consult with ManGo Travels — we verify all employer contracts before submission
- Cross-check with the Bangladesh Embassy in the destination country if in doubt
Can I switch jobs while on a work visa abroad?
Work VisaThis depends on the visa type and country. On an Open Work Permit (Canada, Australia post-study), you can work for any employer without restriction. On an Employer-Sponsored Visa (UK Skilled Worker, Australia 482, Denmark Fast-Track), you must notify the immigration authority and potentially apply for a new work permit if changing employers. On a Residence Permit (Germany, Finland, Malta), there are varying rules depending on the permit category. ManGo Travels advises clients on job change procedures to avoid visa violations.
What is the pathway to Permanent Residency from a work visa?
Work VisaMost destination countries offer a pathway from temporary work permit to Permanent Residency (PR) after a period of continuous residence and employment. General timelines:
- Canada: Express Entry PR in as little as 6–12 months
- Australia: Subclass 186 PR after 3 years on employer-sponsored visa
- Germany: PR (Niederlassungserlaubnis) after 4–5 years

This applies to both Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes at state universities. Private universities in Germany do charge tuition fees, so it is important to confirm whether your chosen institution is public or private. ManGo Travels helps you identify and apply to tuition-free German public universities.
What is an APS Certificate and do I need one?
Study VisaThe APS (Academic Evaluation Centre) certificate is a mandatory document for Bangladeshi students applying to German universities. It is an evaluation of your academic qualifications by the APS office in Dhaka. The process involves submitting your educational certificates, transcripts, and a personal interview. The APS certificate confirms that your qualifications are genuine and equivalent to German standards. Without an APS certificate, you cannot apply for a German student visa or be admitted to a German university. ManGo Travels assists with the APS application process and interview preparation.

Study VisaThe Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement is a written personal statement required by the Australian Department of Home Affairs for Student Visa (Subclass 500) applications. It must convincingly demonstrate that you genuinely intend to study in Australia temporarily and return to Bangladesh afterwards. Key points to address include: your reasons for choosing Australia and your specific course, your study and career goals, your ties to Bangladesh (family, property, future employment prospects), and why this qualification is not available in Bangladesh. A weak GTE statement is the most common reason for Australian student visa refusals. ManGo Travels provides expert GTE writing assistance.

What is the Canadian GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) requirement?
Study VisaFor Canadian Student Direct Stream (SDS) applications, applicants must open a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) account with a participating Canadian financial institution and deposit CAD $10,000. This is not a visa fee — it is your own money. After arriving in Canada, the GIC is released to you in monthly instalments to cover living expenses. Hajj & Umrah
All your questions about Hajj registration, Umrah visas, packages, documents, and pilgrimage rituals.
Is ManGo Travels a licensed Hajj and Umrah operator?
Hajj & UmrahYes — ManGo Travels is an authorised Hajj and Umrah operator licensed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) of Bangladesh. We operate within the official quota system and all our packages comply fully with Saudi government and Bangladesh government regulations. You can verify our licence number with MORA directly.
When should I register for Hajj?
Hajj & UmrahHajj registration typically opens 6–12 months before the Hajj season (8–13 Dhul Hijjah). Due to the limited Bangladeshi Hajj quota of approximately 127,198 pilgrims per year, places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis — with priority given to those who have never performed Hajj before. We strongly recommend contacting ManGo Travels as early as possible after your intention to perform Hajj, ideally 8–12 months in advance. Late registrations risk missing the quota for that year.
What vaccinations are required for Hajj and Umrah?
Hajj & UmrahSaudi Arabia mandates the following vaccinations for all pilgrims from Bangladesh:
- Meningococcal ACWY vaccine — mandatory; must be administered at a designated government health centre in Bangladesh
- COVID-19 vaccination — required as per current Saudi Arabia entry regulations
- Seasonal Flu vaccine — strongly recommended, especially for elderly pilgrims
- Yellow Fever vaccine — required if arriving from a Yellow Fever endemic country
Can women perform Hajj or Umrah without a mahram?
Hajj & UmrahSaudi Arabia updated its policies for women pilgrims:
- Women under 45: Must travel with a mahram (husband, father, brother, or son) for both Hajj and Umrah.
- Women 45 and above: May travel without a mahram for Umrah in an official women's group, provided they submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their male guardian.
- Hajj (Women 45+): Women aged 45 and above may join official Hajj women's groups without a mahram under specific conditions set by MORA and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj.
How long is the Umrah visa valid for?
Hajj & UmrahThe Saudi Umrah visa is typically valid for 30 days from the date of first entry into Saudi Arabia. It is a single-entry visa — you cannot exit and re-enter Saudi Arabia on the same Umrah visa. The visa allows you to travel between Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and other Saudi cities during your stay. Extensions are generally not granted, so it is important to plan your trip within the 30-day window. Note: Multiple-entry Umrah e-visas are now being tested by Saudi Arabia for certain nationalities — contact us for the latest information.
What is the best time to perform Umrah?
Hajj & UmrahUmrah can be performed at any time of year except during the actual Hajj days (8–13 Dhul Hijjah). Each season has advantages:
- Ramadan: Highest spiritual reward — Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj in reward according to Hadith. Most crowded and most expensive.
- Winter (October–February): Most comfortable temperatures (15–25°C), moderate crowds, best overall experience.
- Spring (March–May): Pleasant weather, moderate prices, good availability.
- Summer (June–September): Cheapest flights and hotels but extreme heat (38–45°C). Not recommended for the elderly or those with health conditions.
What is included in ManGo Travels' Hajj and Umrah packages?
Hajj & UmrahAll ManGo Travels Hajj and Umrah packages include:
- Return air ticket (Economy or Business depending on package)
- Hotel accommodation in Makkah and Madinah (3-star to 5-star)

What is Ziyarat and is it included in the packages?

Key Ziyarat sites include: Jabal Nur (Cave Hira), Jabal Thawr, Masjid Quba, the Baqi Cemetery (Jannat al-Baqi), the Battle of Uhud site (Masjid Uhud), Masjid al-Qiblatayn, and Masjid e-Miqat. Ziyarat tours are included in ManGo Travels Gold and Diamond packages and are available as an add-on for Silver/Economy packages.
Can elderly or disabled pilgrims perform Hajj or Umrah?
Hajj & UmrahYes — Hajj and Umrah are accessible for elderly and mobility-impaired pilgrims. Masjid al-Haram provides wheelchair services and accessible routes for Tawaf and Sa'i. ManGo Travels can arrange wheelchair assistance, priority hotel rooms near the Haram, and a personal helper for our Gold and Diamond package pilgrims. We recommend elderly pilgrims choose hotels within 200–300m of the Haram to minimise walking distance. Please inform us of any mobility or health requirements at the time of booking so we can make appropriate arrangements.
How much Zamzam water can I bring back from Hajj or Umrah?
Hajj & UmrahSaudi Arabia allows pilgrims to bring back a personal allocation of Zamzam water. Airlines typically allow Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to check in an additional Zamzam water container (up to 5 litres per passenger) as part of their baggage allowance. Due to aviation security rules, Zamzam water must be checked in as hold luggage — it cannot be carried in hand luggage on international flights. ManGo Travels' Diamond and Gold packages include a Zamzam water allocation. Please confirm the latest airline-specific rules with us at the time of your trip.

Questions about flight bookings, airline tickets, baggage, changes, and travel from Bangladesh.
Which airlines does ManGo Travels book tickets for?

These include Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, FlyDubai, Jazeera Airways, Malaysian Airlines, and many more. For domestic flights, we book Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines. Contact us for current availability on any specific airline or route.
How do I get the cheapest flight ticket from Bangladesh?
Air TicketingHere are the best strategies for finding the lowest fares:
- Book early: Prices typically rise as the departure date approaches. Booking 6–8 weeks in advance usually gives the best fares.
- Be flexible with dates: Flying midweek (Tuesday/Wednesday) is usually cheaper than weekends.
- Consider stopover routes: Indirect flights via Dubai, Doha, or Kuala Lumpur are often significantly cheaper than direct options.
- Use ManGo Travels: As an authorised agent, we access consolidated fares and group rates not available to the general public.
Can I change or cancel my flight ticket after booking?
Air TicketingYes — most airline tickets can be changed or cancelled, but fees and conditions apply depending on the fare type:
- Flexible/Refundable fares: Can be changed or cancelled with minimal or no penalty fee.
- Semi-flexible fares: Changes allowed with a fee (typically BDT 3,000–8,000 or the equivalent); partial refund on cancellation.
- Non-refundable / Promo fares: No refund on cancellation; date changes may be allowed for a fee plus fare difference.
ManGo Travels handles all flight changes and cancellation requests on your behalf — contact our office at least 48–72 hours before departure for changes. Emergency same-day changes require direct airline contact.
What is the standard baggage allowance for international flights?
Air TicketingStandard international baggage allowances vary by airline and class:
- Economy Class: 20–30kg checked baggage + 7–10kg hand luggage (varies by airline)
- Business Class: 30–40kg checked baggage + 14–18kg hand luggage
- Hajj/Umrah flights: Many airlines offer an additional 5kg Zamzam water allowance for pilgrims
Some budget airlines (e.g. Air Arabia, FlyDubai) charge separately for checked baggage — the ticket price may not include any checked bag. Always confirm the baggage policy for your specific fare when booking with ManGo Travels.
Do I need a transit visa when connecting through another country?
Air TicketingIt depends on the transit country and whether you leave the airport international transit zone:
- UAE (Dubai/Abu Dhabi): Bangladeshi passport holders generally need a UAE transit visa for layovers. Short-duration transit visas are available.
- Qatar (Doha): Transit visa may be required — Qatar Airways sometimes provides complimentary transit visas.
- Turkey (Istanbul): Visa-free airside transit for Bangladesh passport holders if staying in the international zone.
- Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur): Transit visa required for Bangladeshi nationals.
ManGo Travels checks transit visa requirements for your specific itinerary before booking and advises accordingly.

- Guaranteed seats together on the same flight

The weather is warm and pleasant, the sea is calm and safe for swimming, and the sky is clear for stunning sunrises and sunsets. Avoid visiting during the monsoon season (June–September) as heavy rainfall and rough seas make beach activities difficult and some resorts may be inaccessible. The peak holiday season is November–January and during Eid holidays — book well in advance during these periods as hotels fill up quickly.

Domestic TourismYes — the Sundarbans is safe to visit through an organised tour with a licensed guide. Highlights include:

Do I need any special permits to visit Bandarban or the Chittagong Hill Tracts?
Domestic TourismYes — visiting certain areas of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) including Bandarban, Rangamati, and Khagrachhari requires a special permit for both Bangladeshi nationals and foreign visitors in some restricted zones. Specific treks to remote areas (e.g. Keokradong, Boga Lake deep zones) may require additional military clearance. ManGo Travels handles all necessary permits and clearances as part of our Bandarban and CHT tour packages — you do not need to arrange these independently. Our local guides are experienced with the permit requirements for all areas we operate in.
What is the best way to explore the Ratargul Swamp Forest in Sylhet?
Domestic TourismRatargul is Bangladesh's only freshwater swamp forest, located in Gowainghat, Sylhet — often called the "Amazon of Bangladesh." The best time to visit is during or just after the monsoon season (June–October) when the forest is fully submerged and you can glide through the trees by boat. In the dry season, the water level drops significantly. To explore Ratargul:
- Travel from Sylhet city by CNG auto-rickshaw or local transport (~1 hour)
- Hire a traditional wooden rowboat from the local boat dock
- Explore the submerged forest with a local guide for approximately 1–2 hours
ManGo Travels includes Ratargul in our Sylhet tour packages along with Jaflong, Bisnakandi, Lalakhal, and the tea gardens.
Is Bangladesh safe for tourists?
Domestic TourismYes — Bangladesh is generally a safe and welcoming destination for tourists. Bangladeshis are known for their extraordinary hospitality and warmth toward visitors. Major tourist destinations such as Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Bandarban, and the Sundarbans are well-established with experienced tourist infrastructure. Standard travel safety practices apply — keep valuables secure, use registered guides in remote areas, and avoid travelling alone at night in unfamiliar areas. All ManGo Travels domestic tour packages include registered guides, vetted accommodation, and reliable transport — ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience throughout your trip.
